Our Upstairs "Plant Room"
We’re truly a small operation. This is where we start all of our seedlings—a spare bedroom upstairs! Baker’s racks, grow lights, and seed starting supplies fill the entire space. Right now we have flats of herbs, peppers, tomatoes and flowers. When the time is right, they’ll go out to our greenhouse. And from there, to our happy customers at our roadside stand. Stop by and check us out. Cilantro, dill, parsley, basil, arugula, and lettuce plants are there right now!
Fresh Brown Eggs
After a long winter off, our Buff Orpington chickens are laying again. We thought they’d never start. Their eggs are so delicious. So fresh!
Spring Is Here!
We travel to Lancaster County next week (March 9) to pick up our pansies for sale here at the roadside stand. (We don’t grow our own; they’re really labor intensive!) Look for them the weekend of March 11-13. We’re really excited to start the spring season.
Thank You! See You In The Spring!
We had a great 2021 season here at the farm. Wonderful herbs in the spring; tomatoes, beans, cucumbers, zucchini and peppers in the summer; and potatoes, gourds and winter squash in the fall. Plus beautiful flowers of all types for cut flower arrangements. We couldn’t be happier! Thanks to all of you for your patronage. See you next spring.
Fall Is Here!
With the hard rains from Henri and Ida, our summer garden, especially tomatoes, has ended. But it’s been a banner year for fall crops, like squash, gourds and pumpkins, as well as many beautiful flowers. And we still have tasty peppers and potatoes. Stop by and pick up your fall decorations.
A Special Order
One of our strongest sellers is our selection of fresh cut flower bouquets. Either pre-cut or made-to-order, these arrangements don’t last long at our farm stand. Stop by and see what we offer.
Another Donation To A Worthy Cause
Last Friday, Whispering Hills Farm donated a truck load of produce to the Stroudsburg Wesleyan Church food pantry. It’s was our pleasure to add our little bit to the many items donated by the community to help feed those in need. They were thankful for the fresh produce and we were glad to help.
Summer Crops Are In!
Yippee! We're open again for the summer! We have early summer crops ready to go at our roadside farm stand. Peppers, elephant garlic, candy onions, leeks, blueberries, cherry tomatoes, parsley, kale, and new potatoes are available now. And we have fresh brown eggs from our Buff Orpington chickens. Stop by and check us out.
A Forest Of Tomatoes
We’ve done it again! Just look at this forest of heirloom tomato plants. We’ll have plenty of fruit for our roadside farm stand—if nature cooperates. Here’s hoping the hot, wet weather doesn’t harm these beauties.
Summer Harvests Are Coming In
Elephant garlic is always a big favorite with our customers. It’s related to the leek and has a milder taste than regular garlic. Try roasting it or use it in sauces. We love it!
A Great Spring Season
Thanks to all of our customers, from near and far, who supported our roadside farm stand this spring. We’ve enjoyed serving you and look forward to the summer, when our harvests of elephant garlic, peppers, heirloom tomatoes and more become available. See you then.
It's Tomato Time!
Tomato lovers rejoice! Finally...after a cold and wet spring, our tomato plants are ready for sale at our roadside farm stand. We have more heirloom varieties than you can imagine. Some are the old standbys--Cherokee Purple, Mortgage Lifter, Brandywine. And then there are the less well-known (even to us!)--Wapsipinicon Peach, Brad's Atomic Grape, Homer Fike's Yellow Oxheart. Come see us at Whispering Hills Farm and try something new.
Friends of Cherry Valley Event
On Saturday, we participated in the Friends of Cherry Valley celebration at the Cherry Valley Winery. The focus of the event was a hike through the Fish and Wildlife property at the winery. Whispering Hills Farm donated vegetable plants for their fundraiser, something we’ve done for the past three years. Other efforts we support include a community garden in the town of Stroudsburg, an elementary school garden at Stroudsburg’s Chipperfield Elementary and (starting this spring) a classroom garden in East Stroudsburg.
Attention Pepper Lovers!
We have 30 varieties of peppers for sale at our roadside farm stand for you to enjoy. Some are familiar—California Wonder bell peppers, Corno do Toro, Marconi Red, Sweet Banana. And then there are the less well-known types—Advarski, Aconcagua, Aurora, Beaver Dam. You’ll enjoy the selection, we’re sure. Stop by and check us out.
Sold Out!
Thanks to all our customers who stopped and bought our pansies. They were beautiful and we hope they brightened your days. Now it’s time for herbs—Italian parsley, curly leaf parsley, dill, cilantro, Genovese basil, Purple Opal basil, and Tulsi (holy) basil. We also have many lovely succulents that make great additions to your flower beds. And. . . for the first time we have fresh brown eggs for sale, courtesy of our new Buff Orpington chickens.
A Beautiful Sign of Spring
Pansies are a sure sign that spring is almost here. Stop by and see for yourself.
Everyone Loves Succulents!
Our selection of succulents grows every year. This spring we have a beautiful selection in all sizes. You’ll love ‘em!
